During the summer, kids can join the Angostura staff for a series of nature day camps designed for educational fun.

These camps are offered once each month during the summer season and consist of several programs and hands-on activities. Their purpose is to enhance the learning opportunities for younger park visitors.

Each camp is different, giving participants a chance to look for bugs or take a guided hike on a nature trail. In every case, the focus of the event is to open the eyes of the participants to an exciting and unique natural world.

Track Detectives

When many animals are nocturnal and most people are diurnal (awake during the day), it can be a mystery figuring out where an animal was going and what it was doing when only foot prints are left behind. Come learn about the many animals of the area, how to identify common animal tracks, and make an animal track to take home. You will be surprised what animals call Angostura home! Wear water shoes; bring a water bottle, sunscreen and a snack.

Nature Explorers

Does catching insects, discovering tracks, smelling flowers, identifying animal droppings, looking at birds through binoculars, and just being outside sound fun to you? If so, come spend the morning being a naturalist and exploring nature! Please bring a water bottle and sunscreen.
