Snipe hunting? Seriously?

It is true. Snipe are similar in looks and habits to the woodcock. They are shy birds and conceal themselves close to ground vegetation. They do not flush easily, and then exhibit a rapid takeoff and zig - zag flight.

The snipe is found around lakes, sloughs, marshes, wet fields, and other wetland areas in South Dakota. The bird is approximately nine inches long and noted for its long beak.
